Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in MKN daily press conference today.
Putrajaya, 22 May 2021 - As one of the strategies to flatten the Covid-19 curve, the government has decided that 80% of government staff and 40% of the private sector will work from home, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
According to the Senior Minister (Security), this measure - which will involve 750,000 government staff and about 6.1 million private-sector workers - will commence from May 25.
"The capacity of public transport such as buses and LRT will be reduced to 50% of its original capacity," he said at the press conference to announce the tighter SOP of the current movement control order (MCO 3.0).
He also mentioned that the operating times of businesses will also be shortened.
“All these measures are to reduce movement, ” he said.
In response to the recent surge of cases, the special meeting of the MKN had unanimously decided to tighten the current movement control order with more restrictions on social and economic sectors.
