Positive Covid-19 Malaysian man carries the new variant

Singapore confirms another Malaysian in the Covid-19 “Dealer Marina Bay Sands Casino” Cluster.


Singapore, 18 May 2021 - A Malaysian man aged 34 years old became the new Covid-19 variant case that was associated with the cluster 'Dealer Marina Bay Sands Casino'.


The infected was declared as positive for the earlier variant of B1617 according to Singapore's Health Ministry.


According to the data by the published last night, MOH informed that the man was currently jobless and a close contact of the first case in the same cluster.


The other man was also Malaysian, aged 36- years old who worked at Marina Bay Sands Casino and was infected by Covid-19 yesterday.


"He had a fever and cough on 12 May, got a medical treatment in public health clinic on 15 Mei, and was tested positive through Antigen Rapid Test (ART).


"He was soon quarantined and went for Polymerase Chain Reaction test the same day he was tested positive of Covid-19 on 16 May."


The result of the serology test has yet to be confirmed.
